Privacy Policy
Crypto & Hash Tools is designed to handle no user data. All calculations run in your browser; no input is uploaded, logged, or stored on a server. This page explains exactly what is and is not processed, including the infrastructure and third-party services that operate at the edges of the site.
Information Entered Into the Tools
Any text you type or paste into a tool — input for hashing, a message and key for HMAC, data for a checksum, or a pattern and text for regex — is processed entirely in your browser. It is not transmitted to any server, not logged, and not stored. Closing the page discards it immediately.
Browser-Only Processing
The tools are implemented with browser JavaScript and trusted client-side libraries such as CryptoJS. Computation happens on your device. There is no backend that receives your tool input, which is the strongest practical privacy guarantee for a web-based utility: the data cannot be leaked from a server it never reaches.
Server Requests
Your browser requests the page itself — HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and static assets — from the web server. These requests are needed to load the site and do not include the content you enter into any tool. Once a page is loaded, most tools work without further network requests.
Hosting and Access Logs
The website is hosted on a standard web server. Like most hosting providers, the infrastructure may log basic access information — such as IP addresses, timestamps, and requested URLs — for security, abuse prevention, and performance purposes. These logs relate to serving the page, not to the values you compute with the tools.
Cookies
The tools themselves do not set cookies. Your theme preference may be stored locally in your browser. Any cookies you observe come from the hosting layer, advertising, or third-party services described below, not from the cryptographic tools.
Analytics and Tracking
The tools do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or similar technology to monitor your calculations or identify you. We do not know what you are hashing, signing, or matching. If third-party analytics or advertising scripts are present on the site, they operate independently and are covered in the third-party services section.
Third-Party Services
The site may include third-party services that operate at the infrastructure layer: web hosting, content delivery, advertising, and payment processing for donations. These providers have their own privacy policies and may process information such as IP addresses or ad-related identifiers as part of their normal operation. They do not receive the content you enter into the tools.
Donation and Payment Redirects
If you choose to support the project through a donation, you are redirected to a third-party payment provider such as PayPal. The payment is processed entirely by that provider under its own privacy policy. No payment-card details are entered on this site, and the tools' input is never connected to a donation.
Contact Email
The contact form opens a prefilled email message in your email client. If you send that message, your email and its contents are handled by your email provider and ours, outside the browser-only tool environment. Include only what you are comfortable sending over email, and avoid pasting real secrets.
Data Retention
No tool input is retained — it exists only in your browser session and is discarded when you close the page. The only data that may persist is standard hosting access logs and any data governed by the third-party services above, each subject to its own retention practices.
Security Limitations
Browser-only processing protects your input from server-side exposure, but it does not make the underlying algorithms secure for every purpose. MD5 and SHA-1 are collision-broken, CRC32 is not cryptographic, and no fast hash is suitable for password storage. The privacy model covers where your data goes, not whether a given algorithm is the right choice — see each tool page for algorithm-specific guidance.
Children and Minors
The tools are intended for developers and technical users and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided personal information through the contact email, please contact us so it can be removed.
Changes to This Policy
If our privacy practices change, we will update this page. Our core commitment to browser-only processing of tool input will not change. Review this page periodically for any updates.
